Job Title: Aboriginal Education Specialist

The role of an Aboriginal Education Specialist is to improve educational outcomes of Aboriginal students by providing cultural support and guidance. They will assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships between staff, students, parents, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve educational outcomes of Aboriginal students
  • Provide cultural support and guidance
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships between staff, students, parents, and the community

Requirements:

  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa with relevant work rights
  • Valid Working With Children Check
  • Current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a school-level team
  • Demonstrated ability to provide multi-cultural direction in educational programs

This role involves working closely with teachers, students, and parents to develop and implement strategies that improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal students. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and a commitment to improving educational outcomes for Aboriginal students.
