Job Title: Practice Leader

About the Role:

As a Practice Leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring individuals receive consistent and competent support. You will be responsible for translating theoretical knowledge into practical application, fostering a team environment that values individuality and promotes quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and protect the rights of persons supported, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Coach staff in good practice through feedback and modelling good behaviour.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership by guiding and supporting team members during delivery of support.
  • Lead and supervise staff to implement support plans and meet key objectives.
  • Ensure staff assist persons supported with developing and maintaining relationships and pursuing social, educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities.
  • Foster partnerships with various service providers to create opportunities for those accessing support services.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation and best practices through ongoing professional developments.
  • Assist in recruitment processes as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of effectively leading teams to perform roles to a high standard.
  • Understanding of both physical and intellectual disabilities and other complex presentations.
  • Excellent knowledge of and experience with person-centred active support frameworks.
  • Good understanding of positive behaviour support and person-centred practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form effective working relationships.
  • Certificate IV in Disability (desirable).
