Role Overview

Are you driven by the desire to influence financial strategy and facilitate business growth? We are seeking a proactive Finance Business Partner to join our National Business Performance Team. In this role, you will oversee financial management and collaborate with your designated client group to achieve financial and strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Head of Business Performance and collaborating closely with Executive Team Leaders (ELT) from our Personal Injury Law (PIL) practice groups, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering direct financial support to key internal stakeholders to meet division goals and objectives;
  • Providing insightful analysis and quality reporting to enhance the performance of your client group, fostering a culture of controlled revenue growth and cost awareness;
  • Offering financial guidance to your client groups, particularly to the relevant ELT, focusing on fee and labor cost forecasting and working capital management, while proactively identifying and communicating potential challenges;
  • Ensuring effective communication to keep key internal stakeholders informed of trends within your client group and implementing strategies to address any financial performance concerns;
  • Assisting in resource allocation decision-making;
  • Coordinating the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for your client group, including:
    • Participation in Strategic Planning
    • Revenue targeting
    • Bonus/KPI setting and calculations
    • Capital expenditure budgeting and monitoring
    • Performance enhancement initiatives
    • Attendance at meetings with relevant stakeholders
  • Developing budgets and forecasts aligned with your client group's strategies and preparing relevant reporting packages;
  • Building strong, sustainable relationships and adopting a collaborative approach in your work;
  • Adding value and earning trust and respect in your role;
  • Promoting continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of management reporting processes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, the following qualifications and skills are essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance or Business Performance;
  • CPA or CA accreditation;
  • Extensive experience in financial management within a professional services environment or similar;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong business acumen and commercial insight;
  • Significant experience in cultivating relationships with various stakeholders within an organization.
