Business Traineeship Overview

This is an exceptional opportunity to gain a National qualification while acquiring valuable on-the-job experience. You will be part of a team of professionals, learning the right way from the start.

We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates wishing to complete a Certificate III Business BSB30120 qualification in a one to two year timeframe. This entry-level position would suit school leavers looking for their first full-time employment opportunity within an administration environment. We have a range of host businesses in the Launceston area, keen to take on a trainee in both the Government and Private sectors.

What Does This Involve?

  • You will be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your training contract and work full-time with your host business.
  • Full entitlements including four weeks of holidays per year.
  • Theory training conducted one-on-one in the workplace with our experienced trainer.
  • You will receive mentoring and support throughout the traineeship.
  • Workplace supervisors will provide daily coaching and opportunities for growth.

  • Develop and hone your mature, approachable manner, providing support to the team.
  • The role involves general administration tasks including phone and face-to-face customer service, filing, data entry, and assisting with the day-to-day duties involved in the host business.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with the ability to schedule and prioritise work, focusing on customer service and attention to detail.
  • Cultivate a professional attitude and disposition, with the energy and enthusiasm required.
