About this role

Support new staff in their transition to work and parent pathways service programs as an experienced mentor.

Provide hands-on guidance, technical training, individual coaching sessions, and support employees to complete their induction plans successfully.

This role complements formal training provided by the learning and development team, focusing on improving employee retention rates.

The ideal candidate is a well-performing staff member looking for career progression or wanting to develop coaching skills.

They may be a current site manager, assistant site manager, or an experienced coach.

This full-time ongoing position will be based at our Mile End site, supporting programs across South Australia, Western Australia, and New South Wales.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert advice and mentoring to new staff on specific roles in employment services programs.
  • Support employees to understand and complete their induction plans.
  • Deliver practical coaching on steps to undertake specific work tasks.
  • Sit in on appointments and activities with new workers to assist them in learning their role.
  • Provide feedback to line managers on employee progress.
  • Escalate additional training requests to the learning and development team.
  • Participate in probation meetings and provide feedback to new employees with their line manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a current driver's license and have a reliable vehicle.
  • Have a minimum of a Certificate IV in Employment Services, Youth Work, Career Development, or a higher level of qualification.
  • Have at least two years of experience in employment services.
