Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Professional Indemnity Underwriter to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our Underwriting Operations team, you will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, risk assessment, pricing, and policy management.
Key Responsibilities- Underwriting Operations
- Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with our approved Underwriting Guidelines
- Assess and manage risk, including pricing and policy terms and conditions
- Collaborate with the Product Head and Underwriting team to ensure seamless underwriting operations
- Broker Support and Relationship Development
- Support brokers via telephone, email, and in-person to achieve great outcomes for all parties involved
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with our broking partners
- Policy Management
- Prepare policy documentation and issue annual renewal notices
- Manage customer records and database
- Assist with credit control and broker support
- Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development of our IT systems and internal processes
- Assist in identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to drive operational efficiencies
- 2-3 years of experience in underwriting or broking, preferably in Professional Indemnity
- Strong technical expertise and knowledge of insurance underwriting principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop skills through ongoing training and professional development
