Concierge Security Position

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced individuals to join our team as Concierge Security staff. This role will involve working closely with our Security Operations Center to ensure the safety and security of our visitors and museum assets.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with a diverse range of visitors. They will also be able to work effectively in high-pressure situations and manage emergencies and responses effectively.

The position requires proficiency in using security software, surveillance systems, and incident reporting tools, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information securely. Previous experience in a security role, ideally within a customer-facing or public environment such as a museum, gallery, or event space is essential.

Key duties include:

  • Security monitoring: Oversee designated museum spaces to prevent theft, monitor activity, and ensure visitor and asset safety.
  • Customer service: Provide a high standard of visitor engagement, offering accurate information about exhibitions, programs, and facilities, while supporting ticket sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Incident reporting: Log and communicate incidents clearly and promptly through the SOC system, maintaining thorough documentation and supporting investigations where needed.
  • Team coordination: Collaborate with SOC staff to track team locations, coordinate emergency responses, and maintain situational awareness across the site.
  • Emergency response: Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, supporting evacuations, administering first aid, and assisting visitors and colleagues during incidents.

The successful applicant will have certificates II security operations, current first aid and CPR certification, and a valid Victorian driver's license. Willingness to undergo and successfully pass a national police records check and a working with children check is required.

This is an ongoing position, available for full-time or part-time employment. The classification is grade 2, with a value range of $66,063 base plus statutory superannuation. Reports to the coordinator, security operations. Operational hours vary across sites.
