Job Overview
The Public Information and Warnings Manager role is a critical position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the delivery of timely and quality public information and warning services.
This role requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in communications and public information management. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of managing complex projects and leading high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the issuing of critical public information to support operations during major incidents, emergencies, and disasters.
- Oversee the delivery of public information and warning initiatives to inform communities about fire and emergency events.
- Supervise a team of Public Information Officers to ensure effective communication and warning strategies are implemented.
- Participate in 24-hour on-call rosters and travel intrastate or interstate as necessary.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A degree in Communications, Public Information, or a related field, and over seven years' experience in communications or public information.
- Knowledge and/or experience in project management and business improvement strategies.
Working Conditions
- Deployment at short notice in response to QFD operations during major incidents, emergencies, and disasters if required.
