We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Secondary Music Teacher to join our team in Victoria, Australia.
This permanent position involves delivering music education to students aged 15–18 in small, well-supported classes with strong wellbeing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach music aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, VM, and VET, focusing on recording, mixing, and production.
- Instruct students in using industry-standard software and equipment for audio recording and editing.
- Develop practical skills in music technology, live sound, and digital production.
- Design and assess creative projects that combine composition, recording, and production.
- Embed music literacy and critical listening into hands-on tasks.
- Prepare students for assessments, performances, and VET competencies.
- Promote collaboration through group projects and shared production tasks.
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Current VIT registration.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Secondary Music with a background/focus/interest in sound recording or music producing.
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
- Full-time availability from term 4, 2025.
- Willingness to teach students aged 15–18 in small classes (5–8 students) with a Youth Justice member present.
The College uses High Impact Engagement Strategies (HIES) and High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) within a Trauma-Informed and Culturally Responsive framework. It provides wellbeing programs, biweekly wellbeing groups led by a clinician, and access to individual sessions with the wellbeing team; self-care plans are developed to mitigate stress and prevent burnout.
