Job Title: Learning Support Specialist

This is a part-time education support role that will perform tasks in accordance with established guidelines and frameworks.

The successful candidate will work under supervision and direction, with the opportunity to gain experience and take on more responsibility as they progress in the role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides routine support for teachers, including assisting with planning student routines and communicating with parents.
  • Supports communication between teachers and students, and provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students.
  • Communicates with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information, and addresses immediate behavioural presentations related to specific students within a classroom setting.
  • Provides basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting, and assists teachers with the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks.
  • Able to work and collaborate with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication skills.
  • Possesses the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
  • Commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.
