Job Title: Trust Investigator

About the Role
  • Lead complex investigations into law practices and legal practitioners under the Uniform Law, ensuring compliance with trust requirements and detecting fraud or defalcation.
  • Plan, conduct, lead, and report on investigations, gathering evidence and conducting research to identify trends and issues.
  • Represent at hearings and engage with stakeholders to develop effective working relationships and manage complex investigations.
  • Maintain high-level knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities and provide mentoring to team members.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting, or business.
  • Current membership with Chartered Accounts ANZ and/or CPA Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial accounting practices and procedures, including accounting systems, auditing standards, and APES 215 Forensic Accounting Services.
  • Strong problem-solving and financial analytical skills, preferably in an investigative or law enforcement environment.
  • Well-developed written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and seniority.
