Job Overview

Work as a laboratory assistant in a Genomics laboratory focused on cancer genomic testing and routine molecular genetics and cytogenetic investigations. The role is temporary full time up to February 2026, with potential for ongoing employment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory support services, assisting laboratory staff under supervision to deliver high-quality results.
  • Conduct specimen reception and collection services, working effectively with the laboratory team.
  • Support the laboratory team by managing competing priorities and ensuring efficient workflow.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to learn all aspects of the laboratory environment.
  • Effective customer service experience and skills, with excellent communication abilities.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues within the laboratory.
  • Highly accurate data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Awareness of legislation and policies relevant to the laboratory setting.
  • Understanding of genetics and molecular techniques and their application in diagnostic pathology laboratories.
