Speech and Language Consultant

This role is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in speech and language development, collaboration with professionals, parents, and educators to design tailored early development plans. You will work closely with clients to advise on speech and language strategies and develop intervention plans for implementation at home, school, or in the centre.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development and be able to conduct thorough client assessments, develop effective intervention plans, and facilitate parent education sessions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role as you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and provide in-services to staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct client interviews and develop assessment plans.
  • Oversee and create intervention plans for clients to implement at home, school, or in the centre with therapy assistants.
  • Facilitate client groups and parent education seminars.
  • Manage clients ensuring a clear, 6-month early intervention plan is developed collaboratively.
  • Secure client commitment, schedule appointments, and convert intakes into services.
  • Run webinars and seminars online.
  • Supervise and educate junior team members.
  • Conduct parent consultations and client appointments.
  • Complete reports, including home programs, progress, and assessments.
  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based, ethical care.
  • Assess, set goals, plan, and implement personalized intervention plans.
  • Develop goals with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Manage weekly schedules to meet KPIs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology (registration not required).
  • Working with Children Check (paid).
  • Police check (clear).
  • First aid certificate.
  • CPR certification.
