Electrical Substation Design Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Substation Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and design, with experience working on electrical substations.

This is a mid-senior level position that requires the ability to lead and manage projects, as well as work collaboratively with other engineers and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical substation systems, including permitting support, site design, foundation design, structure design, and control building design.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading and managing project teams to ensure timely completion of electrical substation design projects
  • Developing and implementing electrical substation design specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive electrical substation designs
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Preparing detailed calculation packages to satisfy client requirements

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, along with at least 4 years of relevant experience in electrical substation design.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain licensure in multiple states
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA, MatchCAD, LPile, and Civil 3D software
  • Knowledge of geotechnical principles and practices

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BSCE degree from an accredited college
  • At least 4 years of civil design experience
  • Strong command of English language with good written and oral communication skills
