Electrical Substation Civil Design Professional

We are seeking a seasoned civil engineer with a strong background in electrical substation design to perform various engineering activities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineers, designers, and drafters in all aspects of electrical substation civil design, including permitting support, site layout, foundation design, structure design, and control building design
  • Develop comprehensive civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines contributing to electrical substation design
  • Evaluate constructability of electrical substations
  • Prepare detailed calculation packages to meet client and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution
  • Possess the ability to work as a substation civil engineer in our Augusta office located in Hallowell, Maine
  • Accredited college degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in civil design
  • Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in electric utility substation design (15kV through 500kV) is highly valued
  • Geotechnical background is advantageous
  • Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain licensure and willingness to obtain licensure in multiple states
