Senior Health Equity Leader

This position plays a pivotal role in advancing the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Queensland.

The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to strengthen high-level relationships, drive policy initiatives, and provide strategic leadership to elevate the profile of First Nations health.

About You

We seek an experienced and respected First Nations leader who can demonstrate a proven track record of delivering system-wide improvements in health equity.

Candidates must possess a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, as well as a commitment to advocating for and leading health equity strategies that benefit the community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic leadership to strengthen relationships with government and community sectors.
  2. Lead the development and implementation of health equity strategies that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  3. Advise senior leaders on state, national, and international issues impacting First Nations health and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated lived-experience knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and identity.
  • Proven ability to advocate for and lead health equity strategies that benefit the community.
