Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our organization at the Tritton Mine in New South Wales.

About the Role:

  • Lead mine planning and design, overseeing short, medium and long term production plans that meet key performance indicators.
  • Ensure integration of short term production plans with medium and long term mine plans.
  • Develop proposals for the most suitable mining method, considering depth and characteristics of deposits and surroundings.
  • Prepare comprehensive mine plans, including declines, drives and shafts using computer aided design software packages.
  • Liaise with surveyors to verify designs are accurate, ensuring appropriate controls are in place for all excavations and drill sites.
  • Support compliance of ventilation standards for removal of dusts and gases, assisting in quarterly updates of the Ventsim model.
  • Make informed decisions about resource allocation and time management.
  • Anticipate issues and develop proactive plans to address them.
  • Coordinate relationship between Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance to ensure ongoing understanding of constraints, priorities and plans.
  • Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to production engineers.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree
  • Experience in underground mining (Stope mining)
  • Advanced computer skills - preferably Deswik
  • Understanding of relevant legislative requirements
  • Self-motivated, analytical and organized individual
