The role is on a 14/9 roster with travel on company time, the site is in central NSW and FIFO from SYD/CAN/MEL/BNE. Residential out of Orange is also possible with a 5/2 roster available if desired. These are exceptional opportunities for anyone who wants to take the next leap in their career as a consultant, propelling their career forward and being rewarded financially.The RolesThe role is is for an experienced senior project engineer to join one of the largest tailings dam projects in Australia. As this is a large tier 1 project >1Bn Capex with a large component being bulk earthworks, similar experience would be highly regarded. The roles are varied but key tasks include, contractor management, project execution, constructability reviews.All travel time and costs, as well as accommodation will be covered, ensuring you are not out of pocket for any expenses, alongside Prime Mining's industry leading remuneration. Senior Project Engineer responsibilities will include the following:Support project planning and execution by developing detailed scopes, schedules, and budgets in line with project objectives and technical requirements.Prepare and review engineering deliverables including cost estimates, RFQ documentation, technical specifications, and design packages for accuracy and completeness.Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and project governance across all design and construction phases.Coordinate with key stakeholders—environmental teams for permitting, contractors for bulk earthworks, geotechnical engineers for design inputs, and consultants for feasibility studies—to ensure seamless project delivery.Monitor technical progress, risks, and interfaces between design and construction, providing clear communication and proactive issue resolution to the project team and management.Construction Manager responsibilities will include the following:Oversee the end-to-end delivery of TSF and bulk earthworks construction, from site establishment and planning through to final handover, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule compliance.Manage project budgets, procurement, and contractor performance to deliver cost-effective outcomes aligned with client and regulatory requirements.Implement and enforce a strong safety and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental approvals, and mine site standards.Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary project team including engineers, surveyors, superintendents, supervisors, planners, and HSE professionals to achieve project objectives.Report project progress, risks, and performance metrics to senior management and key stakeholders, providing clear and timely updates on milestones and deliverables.To be considered you must meet the following criteria:A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.Experience in a similar role, or major project with bulk earthworks.You have previous practical experience in mining projects in Australia (Any experience with Tailings Dams would be highly regarded).Located in eastern capital city or willing to relocate there or regionally.Current Australian drivers licence.Have exceptional and professional communication skills to engage and influence other personnel within the business, along with relevant technical expertise.Have excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.What makes Prime Mining the standout:Stable work & ongoing contracts as part of one of the country's leading Mining Professionals teams, with an extensive client base across the country.An industry leading, unrivalled pay rate, with complete flexibility of PAYG or ABN contract options.A chance to experience a unique lifestyle while developing your career.The ability for you to expand and develop skills.Work on a range of exciting and challenging client projects, with our streamlined business model always keeping us competitive.Recognition and reward for outstanding work.An opportunity to join a diverse well-established team with a strong reputation and genuine culture.  Our team is happy to take calls if you are uncertain about becoming a consultant and wish to talk to others who have been doing it for years.If this sounds like you "Apply Now" with a resume (no need for cover letter).
