About the Role
The Customer Due Diligence Advisor is a senior member of our team responsible for assisting in delivering Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements in line with regulatory compliance.
This critical process supports us in maintaining legal and regulatory adherence. The role involves supervising, mentoring, and leading a subset of customer due diligence officers while focusing on ongoing KYC requirements and anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing processes.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will possess the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in both customer-facing and back-office operational banking, with knowledge of the value operational activity provides to the customer journey;
- Experience in a similar role, specifically working and supporting customers onboarding and/or KYC, and/or anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing management;
- Demonstrated understanding of identification and verification of KYC/AML and regulatory compliance documents;
- Developing people management skills, particularly staff coaching, team leadership, and motivating a team;
- Experience in conducting staff training and quality assurance;
- Proven customer service orientation with clear accountability and ownership of delivery outcomes;
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving with a high attention to detail;
- Experience working within a team, with a proven ability to collaboratively and cohesively deliver towards a common goal;
- Strong adherence to policy and procedure;
- Ability to work and thrive in a business environment, often under pressure, prioritizing deadlines, and communicating with leaders to manage expectations on delivery deadlines;
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to escalate and articulate complex issues to senior leaders;
- Demonstrated experience in meeting and exceeding targets and customer expectations;
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to embrace organisational change, including the use of technology;
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve in the context of change and continuous improvement;
- Completed year 12 certificate or equivalent; and
- Customer contact experience and resolution management;
- Industry-related study, qualifications, and/or experience desired.
