We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team in a long-term position. Our business offers a variety of sweet and savory products, including cakes, pastries, breads, and desserts. We require a focused all-rounder to utilize their skills across all aspects of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measuring and mixing ingredients for cakes and pastries.
  • Decorating, coating, and glazing cakes.
  • Creating multi-layered, bespoke celebration cakes.
  • Preparing various icings, frostings, buttercreams, and fillings.
  • Using kitchen tools effectively.
  • Managing product deliveries.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety per Food Safety, HACCP, and Work Health and Safety regulations.
  • Attending to customer orders and consultations for customized products.
  • Documenting store activities, including temperature logs and safety sheets.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and handling front desk duties when needed.
  • Performing end-of-day sales and cash reconciliation.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the store environment.
  • Baking various types of cakes.
  • Creating special cakes for events and functions as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned, based on training and experience.

  • Strong work ethic, proactive, able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • High standards of personal hygiene and food safety.
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and OHS standards.
  • Detail-oriented with a flair for presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues of varying experience levels.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A Certificate III or IV in Pastry and Bakery or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Pastry Chef in a busy kitchen.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to plan and communicate daily schedules effectively.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts on a full-time basis (38 hours/week).
  • Availability for long-term commitment, including working 7-day rotating rosters.
  • Legal right to work full-time; sponsorship may be considered for suitable long-term applicants.
