The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government is seeking a skilled Clinical Team Manager to lead the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) South Community Team.

About the Role:

CAMHS provides assessment and treatment for young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues, as well as high-quality tertiary mental health care for young people aged 14-25 experiencing first-onset psychosis.

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to a front-line mental health team, managing the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) clinical service system, multidisciplinary services, and duty officer roles. They will also be responsible for clinical case reviews, providing clinical supervision to healthcare professionals, and undertaking professional development.

The role requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources effectively. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals in providing high-quality mental health services to young people.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of funds and optimal service delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain partnerships that support service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to healthcare professionals to ensure they are working within their scope of practice and meeting quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a healthcare professional issued under the relevant state or territory legislation.
  • Compliance with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening, and Vaccination policy.
  • Compliance with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
  • Ability to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively, with a focus on achieving optimal service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Current knowledge of mental health legislation, policies, and procedures in the ACT.
