About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer to lead our team in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise analytics solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization and contribute to shaping the future of data engineering.

As a Principal Data Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in data engineering and development across the enterprise.

You will work closely with our Data Architects and Data Engineers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders.

  • Provide technical development and support capability for ongoing enhancements, new projects, and day-to-day support of systems, data, tools, and technologies.
  • Design and develop graphical displays and reports using Power BI and other toolsets to ensure the right data is available to the right users at the right time in the right format.
  • Prepare and store data for Advanced Analytics applications including Machine Learning.
  • Develop and enhance bespoke applications, data visualisations, and dashboards involving real-time data integrations.

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in data engineering and analytics.

A minimum of 5 years of experience working in data management, data engineering, and analytics is required.

Solid hands-on experience in data analytics and insights using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, and SSAS with a good understanding of SQL and DAX syntax is necessary.

Experience with some, or all, of the following Microsoft Azure components – Machine Learning, Logic Apps, Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Databricks, dbt, and API Management is highly desirable.

High-level Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and SQL knowledge, as well as advanced proficiency in JavaScript, Python, PHP/Apache, Web Technologies with relevant full-stack framework, reporting tools, Oracle PL/SQL is required.

Experience in data warehouse methodologies such as Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault, and Medallion, as well as understanding and experience of data warehouse design and concepts, ETL, Middleware, BI Tools, and SQL Development to manage the movement of data into the Corporate Data Warehouse is necessary.

A strong understanding of data warehouse design and concepts, ETL, and data visualisation tools is essential.

Experience in developing solutions involving real-time data integration and data dashboards that are flexible and adaptable to a continually changing business environment is highly desirable.
