Principal Software Engineer

The OpportunityWe're seeking a seasoned Principal Software Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our investment and superannuation platform applications. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll collaborate with Development Managers, Heads of Software Engineering, and Architects to design, develop, deploy, and maintain cutting-edge software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of talented Software Engineers, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and ensuring best practices.
- Hands-on involvement in delivering projects, enhancements, and technical support using modern.NET and cloud technologies across client-side and server-side components.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of processes and procedures and help shape the strategic direction of our platform applications.
- Work closely with the Enterprise Architect and Heads of Software Engineering to align technical designs and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the development cycle.
This role requires you to both work hands-on with tools and lead a team of developers. You are a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in microservice web application development and DevOps practices. Your strengths include leading and managing developers, alongside strong coaching and mentoring capabilities. You can showcase your skills in designing and implementing scalable, resilient cloud solutions for high-traffic, mission-critical systems, ideally with a background in Cloud Architecture, particularly Azure.
