Senior Estimator Role

This is a pivotal position within our organization, responsible for ensuring profitable and timely project delivery in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for modular home projects, encompassing off-site manufacturing, transportation, and on-site installation.
  • Analyze architectural designs, engineering drawings, and modular construction specifications to produce accurate quantity take-offs and pricing.
  • Collaborate with internal design, production, and project management teams to ensure estimates accurately reflect modular construction methods and factory efficiencies.
  • Solicit and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for both factory-built modules and site works.
  • Prepare budgets, tender submissions, and variation estimates that account for modular construction timelines and logistics.
  • Monitor and update cost databases, factoring in unique modular construction materials, prefabrication costs, and transport logistics.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through modular-specific value engineering and process optimization.
  • Evaluate and manage risks specific to modular building, including transport, cranage, and site assembly.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, modular construction standards, and client specifications.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes tailored to modular home construction.
Role Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience within the home building industry is essential.
  • Prior experience in estimating for the modular construction industry is highly advantageous.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills are required.
  • Advanced estimating software experience is necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to learn new systems and software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
