Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our estimating team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for modular home projects, analyzing architectural designs and engineering drawings, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for modular home projects, including off-site manufacturing, transportation, and on-site installation.
  • Analyze architectural designs, engineering drawings, and modular construction specifications to produce accurate quantity take-offs and pricing.
  • Collaborate with in-house design, production, and project management teams to ensure estimates reflect modular construction methods and factory efficiencies.
  • Source and negotiate quotes from suppliers for factory-built modules and site works.
  • Prepare budgets, tender submissions, and variation estimates, considering modular construction timelines and logistics.
  • Monitor and update cost databases, including modular-specific materials, prefabrication costs, and transport logistics.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and process optimization specific to modular construction.
  • Assess and manage risks related to modular building, such as transport, cranage, and site assembly.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, modular standards, and client specifications.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes tailored to modular home construction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years estimating experience in the home building industry.
  • Previous experience in estimating within the modular construction industry is highly advantageous.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with advanced estimating software.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to learn new systems and software quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
