Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Lead to join our Contract Manufacturing team at Horsley Park. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving a safety improvement culture on the production floor and ensuring compliance with WHSE systems, legislation, and regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities- Implementing and coordinating all Work Health, Safety, and Environment systems at a new site, including WHSE during commissioning, operations, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Reviewing, implementing, and maintaining the site to the Group WHSE system.
- Ensuring group and site WHSE policies and procedures are maintained and distributed to relevant personnel.
- Ensuring the site WHS system meets current WHSE legislation.
- Communicating company and legislative WHSE requirements to all employees.
- Leading all external WHSE audits, including developing and managing corrective and preventative action plans.
- Ensuring the WHSE system complies with Customer Quality or Integrity requirements.
- Tracking key systems indicators and reporting results to Management, including accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Ensuring all safety training and competency for all personnel is identified, scheduled, and completed.
- Assisting in managing workers' compensation claims as directed by the group.
- Ensuring the Return-to-Work program is fully functional on site.
- Liaising with injured workers, Insurance, and rehabilitation providers, and the Pact Group Wellness Team as required.
- Ensuring safe work practices are adhered to and reporting any problems to management.
- Ensuring all first aid equipment, first aid stations, and rooms are maintained by designated personnel.
- Ensuring all safety equipment on site is monitored and maintained by designated personnel.
- Participating on the WHS Committee.
- Investigating accidents, incidents, near misses, hazards, or identified risks in a timely manner.
- Ensuring personal protective equipment is correctly issued and used properly when specified or deemed necessary.
