About the Role

As a Senior Financial Strategist, you will play a key role in driving sales strategy and optimizing financial performance for Amazon Web Services' (AWS) Public Sector Sales team. Located in our CBD office or working from home with technology, this exciting opportunity requires an entrepreneurial, analytical, and creative finance leader who can redefine the IT industry.

In this challenging position, you'll collaborate directly with senior Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Finance leaders to build financial plans, analyze large-scale investment opportunities, develop new go-to-market strategies, and identify business growth opportunities. Your strong attention to detail, excellent business judgment, and problem-solving skills will drive strategic growth and contribute to delivering ongoing insights that support day-to-day decision making.

We operate in a fast-paced environment where you'll engage and influence across the AWS Sales, Finance, and Operations hierarchy. You'll partner with stakeholders to optimize our customers' experience, achieve common goals, and monitor risks while ensuring compliance with internal and external financial reporting requirements.

Evaluate Key Performance Indicators

  • Analyze program- and portfolio-level revenue, profit, and ROI impacts using complex financial models.
  • Monitor and control financial assets to optimize asset allocation.
  • Benchmark performance against industry standards and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions.

Develop Essential Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this critical role, you'll need:

  • 8+ years of tax, finance, or related analytical field experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) with 3+ years of experience.
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses and building financial and operational reports/data sets.
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.

Competitive Remuneration Package

AWS offers a competitive remuneration package, including participation in the company stock plan as applicable. We also look after our people with benefits such as subsidized private health insurance, superannuation, and paid parental leave options. Based on the job requirements, we estimate the salary range is between $120,000 - $180,000 AUD per annum, depending on location and experience.
