About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Sector Specialist to join our team in Singapore or Sydney. As a key member of our Country Advisory and Economics Unit, you will be responsible for leading financial market development initiatives and collaborating with industry colleagues to produce analytical products that support IFC's strategy and operations.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial sector development, economics, public policy, international development, or a related field. They will possess solid technical skills in areas such as financial inclusion, financial stability, payment systems, capital market development, climate and risk management, and sustainable finance. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing major projects within the World Bank Group and outside.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical lead on financial markets, sustainable finance, and financial inclusion for the East Asia and Pacific region
  • Develop a clear offering combining real and financial sector sustainability initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to assess financial markets barriers and opportunities
  • Design and implement advisory services to address regulatory barriers hindering access to financial markets and green investment projects
  • Lead collaboration with FIG on the development of sustainable finance instruments and frameworks

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate ideas verbally and in writing across various audiences. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for promoting development solutions and linking finance and development. A willingness to travel to work with country clients and collaborate with World Bank teams is essential.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as retirement plan, medical, life and disability insurance, and paid leave.
