Job Description

The HSE Operations Manager is a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of employees, customers, and the environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and leadership to drive the improvement, promotion, and education of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) within our facility.

Key responsibilities include overseeing project scope, cost control, scheduling, and quality assurance to ensure optimal project outcomes while managing HSE performance and compliance across the facility. Additionally, the incumbent will lead and coach management teams to implement Safety and Environmental Management Systems, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant legislation and certification.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in production, construction, and manufacturing environments, with an understanding of emergency procedures and injury management. They will also have familiarity with quality management systems and experience in hazardous facilities.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and influence across all levels of the organization, are essential. A valid driver's license and eligibility for an Australian Defence clearance are also required.

Requirements
  • Experience in production, construction, and manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001, ISO14001)
  • In-depth knowledge of MHF legislation, OHS & Dangerous Goods legislation
  • Extensive experience in managing people, achieving outcomes, and meeting contractual obligations and stakeholder expectations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License and eligibility for an Australian Defence clearance
