The Maintenance and Repair Team is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their workshop team in Moss Vale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Air Brake Component Overhaul: Overhaul, test, and certify air brake components and bogie assemblies used in diesel-electric locomotives and freight wagons.
  • Mechanical Fitting and Repairs: Perform detailed mechanical fitting, structural repairs, and maintenance of wagons on-site or within workshop facilities.
  • Scheduled and Unscheduled Maintenance: Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of wagons, including component change-outs and warranty repairs.
  • Brake Testing and Inspections: Carry out brake testing, inspections, and examinations of wagons.
  • Structural Body Repairs: Undertake structural body repairs and minor fabrication tasks.

About the Role:

  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent) or Vehicle Body Builder.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within rail, heavy equipment, or industrial sectors.
  • Welding qualifications and/or experience (advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of pneumatic systems and brake components (preferred).
  • Physically fit, safety-focused, and a good team player.
  • Current RIW and White Card (preferred).
  • Truck licence (beneficial).
