Job Summary:

We are seeking a Policymaker and Project Coordinator to join our client, a Federal Government agency, on a contract for 6 months with an option to extend for 2x3 months.

About the Role:

  • This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to adapt to changing priorities while working independently.
  • You will be responsible for developing and updating policies through research, analysis and formulation, including information and records management policy.
  • Analyse data to support evidence-based policy recommendations and decisions, evaluate the impact of new legislation on existing policies and make necessary adjustments for alignment and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, negotiate complex matters and resolve escalated customer issues.
  • Undertake procedural, administrative and service-related tasks and provide policy advice, coordinate and measure program activities, draft policy documents and reports, and communicate policy recommendations and changes to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices and relevant research to inform policy decisions.
  • Mitigate risks associated with policy proposals and develop strategies to address identified risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including colleagues, clients and other external parties.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Provide high-level administrative support to senior staff members.

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship
  • Relevant equivalent qualification, skill and experience in producing government policy documents
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
