Support the Spiritual Needs of Elderly People

Pursue a fulfilling role as a pastoral care volunteer, where you will have the opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of elderly people living in their homes.

You will be actively involved with a local Christian church in the Newcastle and wider Hunter area, working under the direction of our experienced Pastoral Care Coordinator.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Supporting individuals to meet their spiritual needs through regular visits and engaging activities.

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • A high level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills.
  • Pastoral Care training or experience, which may include chaplaincy, clinical pastoral education, or equivalent.

Key Requirements:

18 years or older, National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by us.

We welcome applicants who can commit to a one-hour visit per week, between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday. This flexible schedule allows you to balance your volunteering commitments with other aspects of your life.
