Job Title: Strategic Merchandise Planner
As a strategic merchandise planner, you will play a crucial role in maximizing sales, profit, and return on investment. Your primary responsibility will be to create and drive a strategic financial plan that aligns with the company's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create Strategic Financial Plan: Develop and execute a comprehensive financial plan that identifies opportunities for growth, manages risks, and ensures effective resource allocation.
- Analyse and Present Information: Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to present insights to management, highlighting key strategic initiatives, growth areas, and potential risks.
- Ensure Strategically Aligned Planning Activities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that planning activities are aligned with business objectives and contribute to achieving sales targets, gross profit, and effective stock turns/GMROI.
Requirements:
- Strong Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical skills with high attention to detail, able to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear, concise manner.
- Excellent Influencing and Stakeholder Management Skills: Demonstrate excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills, able to build strong relationships with colleagues, management, and external partners.
- Commercial Acumen: Display commercial acumen, with excellent verbal/written communication skills, able to articulate business cases and negotiate agreements.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years' proven experience in a retail merchandise planning role or comparable position.
- Excel Skills: High level of excel skills and capability, able to analyze and manipulate large datasets.
