Job DescriptionAs a Graduate Mental Health Nurse, you will provide direct mental health nursing care to a designated group of consumers under the supervision of a designated preceptor. You will be accountable for your own standard of nursing care and for activities delegated to others.
You will use the process of nursing to deliver comprehensive care and individual case management to consumers within a designated practice setting. This involves consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organisations.
Your role will include education, counselling, and group work directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practising certificate. You must also be enrolled or undertaking studies toward a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing.
