The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Claims Specialist to join our team in Adelaide. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and support to workers, employers, and stakeholders.
This is a full-time permanent position based in our Adelaide office, with flexibility to work from home. You will be responsible for providing timely and effective management of specialized claims, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes.
About You
- You have a strong customer service focus and exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- You possess sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of medical terminology derived from work experience or studies.
- Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Nursing, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling or Exercise Science) is considered advantageous.
Your Responsibilities
- Pro-actively proceed with appropriate case management to achieve the optimum outcome of early sustainable return to work for workers with reasonable claim costs.
- Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders regularly to progress strategies and actions.
- Assess aspects of liability and recovery relevant to the legislation or policy, in accordance with EML procedures if required.
- Undertake ongoing reviews in relation to entitlements, payments, and medical expenses.
- Proactively manage rehabilitation providers and approval of rehabilitation plans/wellness plans in accordance with guidelines.
- Conduct health promotion activities to enhance the injured worker's wellbeing and empower them to participate in their own treatment and recovery.
- Ensure claims files are accurately and professionally updated on a regular basis.
