About the Opportunity:

This exciting role offers the chance to work as a Senior IT Systems Manager, providing technical expertise and advice to support the Mission Planning Systems (MPS) Project Manager and Mission IT and Security Solutions (MITSS) Line of Business within KBR. Under direction from the Project Manager, you will support the delivery of multiple projects primarily for Defence, ensuring the delivery of secure, compliant, and accredited IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Perform duties for maintaining a Deployable IT Network and associated ICT infrastructure, inclusive of:
  • Technical Support: Assist in the development, introduction into service, and sustainment of the network.
  • Network Management: Manage the evolution of hardware, data, tools, and processes in fixed and deployed IT environments for ADF mission planning systems.
  • Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy, configure, maintain, and upgrade server and workstation infrastructure.
  • Network Monitoring: Monitor and manage network infrastructure, including routers and switches.
  • Host-Based Firewall Configuration: Apply host-based firewall configuration and management, ensuring the security of remote devices in a deployed network.
  • Virtual Environment Maintenance: Maintain internal virtual environments to support software development, testing, and provide operational support.
  • Peripherals Management: Ensure network peripheral devices such as printers and scanners remain functional.
  • Backup and Recovery: Monitor network backups and implement recovery procedures if required.
  • Security and Compliance: Maintain network security, treat, and report security breaches.
  • System Software Installation: Install, configure, test, and deploy system software.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current AGSVA Security Clearance: NV1 or higher.
  • IT Support Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in IT support roles, with at least two years' experience providing System Administration services in Australian Federal Government Departments, preferably within the Defence framework.
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary or vocational qualifications in Network and Systems Administration/IT Engineering and Architecture, including demonstrable experience with Dell hardware, network protocols, MS Windows Server Platforms, VMware vSphere ESXi Hypervisor, data backup and recovery procedures, and software development environments.
  • Software Development Experience: Experience in software development environments, including software and unit testing.
  • Client Engagement: Strong client and staff engagement, relationship, and communications skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed interpersonal skills.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
