This is an exciting opportunity to join the Liver Transplant Unit at Flinders Medical Centre as a Nurse Consultant. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical nursing care to patients undergoing liver transplantation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct, expert clinical nursing care to liver transplant patients, including individual case management and education.
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call roster for coordination of organ donor offers, retrieval, and liver transplant surgery.
- Collaborate with the Liver Transplant Unit multidisciplinary team across South Australia and the Northern Territory, as well as with other transplant units in Australia and New Zealand.
- Implement and coordinate quality improvement processes within the corporate risk management and nursing professional practice frameworks.
- Apply and share expert clinical knowledge to improve patient care outcomes in South Australia.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered nurse with a strong background in liver transplantation and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will also need to possess effective leadership skills, including communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
You will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and you will need to be able to think critically and make sound decisions in a timely manner. You will also need to be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, and to be able to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential.
