Enterprise Network Modernisation Programme Business Role

The objective of this programme is to upgrade operational and corporate networks ensuring existing systems remain connected to provide safe, efficient and effective air navigation and aviation rescue and firefighting services.

This multi-year programme involves the modernisation of their network to enable a strategic change agenda. Over the next few years, the programme will undertake an ambitious transformation effort transitioning to a new IP network with new terrestrial, microwave and satellite components, and moving to a managed service provider/vendor operated model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply contemporary business analysis and organisational change practices when dealing with stakeholders, such as;
    • Requirements elicitation, business process mapping and/or stakeholder engagement workshops
    • Communicating all project risks, issues and dependencies in an effective and collaborative manner
    • Maintaining relationships with key technical and business stakeholders Compliance, Systems and Reporting
  • Align business analysis activities to industry best practice and ASA processes
  • Stakeholder engagement and business analysis for the enterprise network modernisation programme to understand the business needs as they relate to project delivery.
  • Requirements definition and traceability using organisations standards and tools.
  • Monitoring progress of project work packages, deliverables and products,
  • Identify and report on risk and issues impacting service delivery and program performance
  • Developing artefacts to define the outcomes for the organisation and resources required to support the delivery of these outcomes,
  • Planning with the Master Scheduler and maintaining a project schedule that identifies work effort, roles and resources required, budget estimates, constraints,
  • Aligning with the EPMO stage gates and organising stage gate reviews when required.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Australian citizen with ability to obtain Baseline Clearance
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in programme and/or project delivery (ideally in relation to service transition/migration)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate with ICT and business senior executives, internal and external stakeholders and to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Demonstrable experience with regard to interpersonal, consultative, organisational and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrable experience engaging with geologically diverse project teams
  • High attention to detail and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy

Desirable skills and qualifications:

  • Certification in BABOK or deep understanding of business analysis methodologies
  • Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrable experience regarding analytical thinking and problem solving
