Job Title

About the role. This is a pivotal position within the firm, responsible for overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate timely financial reporting.

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable receivable and cash flow management.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee trust account management and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist with budgeting forecasting and financial planning.
  • Manage payroll and superannuation obligations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and bookkeeping preferably within a law firm.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software e.g Xero QuickBooks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
  • Relevant accounting qualifications preferred e.g CPA CA or equivalent.
