As a Senior Technical Specialist, you will act as a consultant, project manager, and lead project teams to deliver successful projects and maintain our brand reputation for superior quality technical work with a high customer focus.
- You will perform professional technical work involving considerable independence in approach, originality, ingenuity, and judgement.
- You will serve as a technical specialist in assigned areas, applying advanced concepts, principles, and methods.

- You will supervise and review the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and technicians.

Specific tasks may include:
- Review and audit of machinery design, structures, and components.
- Concept and detailed design of machinery and associated structures and components.
- Testing, measurement, and stress analysis of machines, machine components, and machine structures, using various techniques including finite element modelling, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and discrete element modelling (DEM).
- Failure and fatigue analysis involving machines and structural components.
- Development and maintenance of specialist software, including SolidWorks and Ansys.
- Preparation of reports, manuals, drawings, and documentation.
- Promotion of capabilities to clients and fellow employees.
- Perform and lead inspections of machinery, including mining and ports-related equipment.
- Experience with machinery such as stackers, reclaimers, excavators, minerals processing plant, mobile mining machinery, underground mining, draglines, belt conveyors, rolling stock, ship loaders, port machinery, cranes, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of governing design codes for the above equipment, including AS4324.1, AS1418, ISO 5049, and FEM II.
- Practical on-site knowledge of maintenance and operational issues.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant area of study.
- Minimum 15 years' experience post-graduation.
- Registration with recognised engineering/environmental bodies, preferably with CPEng, RPEQ, and RPEV (or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrate experience in sales and business development.
- Existing customer network or previous experience in developing key customer relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisation skills with strong attention to detail.
- Initiative and proactive approach to tasks.
- Client-focused and commercially aware.
- Results-oriented.
- Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
- Experience working within the engineering or resources sector.
