Job Title: Principal Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Engineer to join our team at Talenza. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing data products and data-related services that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with customers and stakeholders to design, build, and maintain databases, ETL pipelines, and management systems.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of data management systems and solutions from concept to production deployment.
  • Contribute to the ongoing management of data management systems and solutions, including enhancements, capacity management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Identify, design, and evaluate process improvements to deliver automation, optimize data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for greater scalability.
  • Take technical ownership for data and data pipelines to ensure compliance with data standards, architectural standards, and achievement of business requirements.
  • Monitor systems, identify risk, and emerging issues, and recommend solutions to ensure compliance with data, information, and security management requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience in RDBMS products such as Oracle, AWS, RDS services (PostgreSQL), and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Graph Database products.
  • Experience in API frameworks (SQL, Python) and associated big data processing libraries such as Spark.
  • Strong knowledge of stream data processing frameworks such as AirFlow.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing technologies such as AWS Redshift.
