Join WaterNSW as a Data Scientist - Graduate

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Scientist - Graduate to join our Strategy & Performance team. As a Data Scientist - Graduate, you will be responsible for developing high-quality data products to support advanced analytical, computational, and experimental models in natural and engineered systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed analytical systems to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Contribute to technical support in development and review of assigned tasks.
  • Participate in structured placement activities to develop skills across a broad range of areas within WaterNSW.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in applied data science, IT, computer science, engineering, or equivalent field.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in analysing and visualising multi-dimensional large datasets using Python or R language.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft online platforms.

WaterNSW operates the state's dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution. We play a vital role at the source of the state's water, delivering two thirds of all water used in NSW.
