Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

Our client, a government-owned entity dedicated to supporting the aviation sector, is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer. This role focuses on the technical integrity, maintenance, and improvement of various operational software-based air traffic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Technology Team Lead to ensure systems meet their defined technical performance standards.
- Provide cybersecurity expertise, software testing, and engineering support for project delivery and system maintenance.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Cybersecurity and Operating System hardening, particularly with Redhat Linux and Windows 10.
- Familiarity with the Information Security Manual (ISM) and a track record of applying ISM principles and controls.
- A degree in Engineering or Information Technology from an accredited Australian institution or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong grasp of Systems Engineering practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and system management processes.
- Extensive background in designing, developing, testing, and implementing robust software systems, with a focus on quality assurance and configuration management.
- Experience in managing stakeholders and vendors effectively.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and function as a senior member of a dynamic team, working independently to achieve successful outcomes.
- Excellent documentation skills, including the preparation and review of solution architecture and system design documents.
