Position Overview

As a Senior Security Engineer at Tesserent, you will play a pivotal role within our Security Operations Centre (SOC) team. Your primary responsibilities will include the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of essential Microsoft Security technologies in client environments to effectively detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents. Leveraging your expertise in the Microsoft security ecosystem, you will provide support to internal SOC teams with engineering inquiries and technical escalations, while also fostering strong relationships with clients.

This position emphasizes a commitment to continuous enhancement. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will actively contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), security protocols, and ensure your skills and knowledge remain current in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape. Key Responsibilities

Security Engineering

  • Provide expert guidance on Microsoft Sentinel and Defender technologies to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain Tesserent's deployed technologies within client environments.
  • Assist in the triage, response, and escalation of client and internal engineering tickets.
  • Take ownership of projects, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
  • Collaborate with SOC team members to enhance our security monitoring and response capabilities.
  • Create, maintain, and adhere to internal SOC documentation.
  • Continuously update your skills and knowledge in relation to the evolving threat landscape.

Required Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Sentinel (deployment, configuration, use case development, and automation).
  • Expertise in Microsoft Defender (deployment, configuration, and hardening).
  • Familiarity with Kusto Query Language (KQL) for writing queries, rules, and workbooks.
  • Experience in Azure Logic and Function app development and deployment.
  • Knowledge of Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), along with code management and scripting.
  • Stay informed about industry insights and proactively research emerging security risks, controls, best practices, and trends.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to communicate confidently and accurately about security, recommending appropriate controls to experienced professionals.
