**Design Engineer - Machine Design**: We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team. Your primary focus will be on designing and building custom machinery and infrastructure to enable Starship production.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience using CAD software (e.g. Solidworks, NX, CATIA, or ProE). A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required, along with 5+ years of professional experience designing and analyzing mechanical structures.Responsibilities include:
  • Mechanical System Design: Designing and building custom machinery and infrastructure to enable Starship production.
  • Production Optimization: Developing the Starfactory of the future to maximize production rate.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with vehicle engineers to influence design and manufacturing processes.
  • Testing and Validation: Executing structural sizing, mechanism design, hardware fabrication, and activation testing.
  • Modeling and Documentation: Creating detailed models and engineering prints in NX.
Basic qualifications include:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • CAD Skills: Experience using CAD software (e.g. Solidworks, NX, CATIA, or ProE).
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience designing and analyzing mechanical structures.
Preferred skills and experience include:
  • Project Management: Technical project management experience.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborative team environment experience.
  • Production Facility: Production facility experience.
