Aboriginal Cultural Conservationist

We are seeking an Aboriginal Cultural Conservationist to support the state's environment and Aboriginal heritage.

About the Role

This unique opportunity enables a team member to work in partnership with Native Title holders and Aboriginal communities to implement Indigenous Land Use Agreements and conserve cultural heritage and our natural environment.

The role provides diverse project management and related support services, including working with native title holders to jointly manage national parks, preparing reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, implementing and monitoring project plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with native title holders and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and monitor project and risk management plans
  • Monitor compliance with Indigenous Land Use Agreements and progress against annual implementation plans
  • Prepare reports and internal briefs

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, the ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with Aboriginal peoples, and highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in conservation or environmental management
  • Experience in working collaboratively and delivering projects, including developing project plans, monitoring project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration
