Pharmacy Technician Role

The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and evidence-based medication therapy as part of their holistic care.

The technician assists in the provision and further development of quality pharmacy services to support patients and clients in their health and wellbeing needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical support to the pharmacy service in all areas of pharmacy practice, including drug distribution duties, hospital pharmacy production, and dispensing activities.
  • Assisting in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services.
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
  • Recent experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using hospital pharmacy computer systems.
Working Conditions:

The Pharmacy Technician will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment within the hospital. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as part of a rotational shift.
