Job Title:

A field service professional is required to provide exceptional customer support and ensure the efficient operation of our customers' engines and power generators.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Anticipate and respond promptly to customer needs
  • Apply specialized tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose and complete repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on engine and related components in the field
  • Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced professionals and/or supervisors
  • Document all work, including service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents, via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Identify additional service opportunities with customers
  • Complete training in line with skills and business requirements
  • Maintain service vehicles and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and report any issues/incidents to site management and supervisors
  • Complete workshop repairs as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Apprentice-trained engine technician (Cert III) or equivalent
  • Intermediate level of workshop or field service experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Heavy vehicle experience preferred
  • Health and safety fundamentals, modeling proactive behaviors to improve workplace safety
  • Diagnosing application, translating customer complaints into troubleshooting plans and diagnosing complex issues using guided workflows, specialized tools, and computer software
  • Electronic service tool application, utilizing electronic tool sets to maintain products or diagnose issues
  • Engine systems interactions, interpreting and analyzing internal and external electrical and mechanical systems to diagnose and repair efficiently
  • Product repair and maintenance, repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products using guidelines, tools, and standard repair times
  • Service documentation, creating and verifying customer, equipment, and technical information, capturing specific data using service tools, and documenting in the service management system
  • Technical escalation, obtaining product technical issue information, utilizing available resources, and elevating issues to higher levels of expertise
  • Differences, recognizing the value of diverse perspectives and cultures
