
Senior Financial Leader

As a Senior Financial Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in financial reporting and contributing to the organization's overall success. The position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under time pressure.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a large ASX-listed company or top/mid-tier accounting firm, with knowledge and experience in financial accounting and working with external auditors.
You will be responsible for leading the Corporate Accounting function, ensuring that internal and external reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
The role involves collaborating with the Group Reporting Manager to drive small improvement projects and participating in larger group projects as part of the finance transformation project.
Responsibilities- Technical Accounting: Provide technical support on new accounting standards and their impact on the organization, responding to queries from regional finance teams.
- Project Leadership: Lead small improvement projects for the Group and participate in larger Group projects, driving excellence in financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing half-year and year-end financial statements, including key technical disclosures.
- Accounting Functions: Lead HQ accounting functions, month-end reporting, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis.
- Share Plans: Oversee accounting for share plans across the Group.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with direct reports, provide coaching, and identify training needs while managing risks within the team.
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in a large ASX-listed company or top/mid-tier accounting firm.
- Financial Accounting Knowledge: Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/AI IFRS) and demonstrated application.
- Education: Degree in Business/Commerce with an accounting or finance focus.
- Professional Certifications: Member of CAANZ or CPA.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
