Job Description for Electrical Estimator

The successful candidate will provide electrical estimation support to the Bidding Energy & Resources Team by developing accurate estimates for tenders and engineering studies.

This role involves working across a national team, occasionally traveling for bid studies, and contributing to internal approvals and proposal reviews as needed.

  • Review requests for proposals and tenders to develop efficient and cost-effective pricing.
  • Develop and implement first principle estimates, interpreting and evaluating drawings to identify direct and indirect estimates.
  • Collate material take-offs and job costs into presentable spreadsheets or databases.
  • Analyse benchmarks and historical costs to inform estimate development.

The ideal candidate will have an Engineering Degree qualification, significant estimating experience (6+ years), and proficiency with CCS Candy estimating software. They will also possess advanced Microsoft skills and be able to develop top-down estimates based on norms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate development and review.
  • Material take-off and job costing.
  • Analysis of benchmarks and historical costs.
  • Relationship building with suppliers and industry bodies.
  • Reporting and communication with management and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree qualification.
  • Significant estimating experience (6+ years).
  • Proficiency with CCS Candy estimating software.

  • Ability to develop top-down estimates.
